Research - how to

In mijlocul sufrageriei Nectarie si-a construit un mare cort.
Doua oua si putin lapte, amestecate bine, apoi adaug faina.

"Hi Stefan,
I hope your brother is feeling better! Your homework
for next week is to do the activity at the end of Chapter 9 on pages 195 and
6. Choose your declamation speech either from the back of the book
(appendix b), or another speech you admire, type it up double-space, mark it up
for emphasis, and deliver it to us in class next week. I’m hoping these
will be around 2 minutes, but it will not be graded for time. You will be
reading it, not memorizing it. You do need to practice to get it smooth,
your pauses in the right place, and the words you want emphasized to sound
right.
Here’s an example we watched in class of a 2-minute segment
of Reagan’s “Tear Down This Wall” speech he gave in Berlin in 1987. It’s
a good example of a declamation speech—a subject he felt passionately about
that he shared with others.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks,
Mrs. Robertson"

Aniversarea noastra

Assignment for Speech Class - "Stefan the Great"
'Hi Stefan,
This is a good outline. You got 15 out of 15 points. On point 2 C, please be sure to tie in how that relates to him being a Christian.
Your next step is to work on transition statements, and figure out which points you want to cover in more detail in order to hit the 4 to 6 minute window. I'd aim for at least 5 minutes at home since you tend to go faster in class.
The only other thing you need to work on for Thursday is to revise your introduction and conclusion. Put them into paragraph form, and actually write out everything you want to say. Check back in the book for the description. It does not follow true outline format. You will need your transition statements at the end of the introduction, and the beginning of the conclusion.
Please let me know if you need further guidance. You are doing a great job, and I'm looking forward to your speech!

Diferiti

-Shake your butt, poop in the toilet!
Nici n-a clipit cand a spus prostia.
- Hapciu! Vine raspunsul copilului :)

The Nativity of Christ has shone to the world the light of wisdom
,Ugh I am glad to have back my Ipad. Nectarie is stealing it every other night to watch ... My Little Pony.. I don't know why such a strong willed, defiant and singular boy would pick such a lame movie to watch.
Anyway, we had a great Christmas the other night, the family that we baptized has come to our house, and I was glad that finally, after 4 years of living here, we weren't alone. The kids paired up and went to their hidings. We ate alot and played with the little baby :). Everybody loves Julianna, even though she is fussy and crunky, but in the same time, so helpless and frail.
They are a simple family, he is a mechanic, a smart and funny guy, she is warm and patient. They also do homeschooling and they just got baptized this year in January. So they are pretty fresh in this world, everything is mesmerizing and hard, colorful and smelly, full of gifts and hunger, obedience, fast.
The last month was hard on them, especially for her, after starting to develop pain in her hand. It turns out that she has a degenerative disease, multiple sclerosis. Me and Nick were baffled to find this out. The future looks grim and I cannot stop thinking at Julianna, and the rest of the kids. How alone they are, how will the future look for them. :(
I love everybody and I would want to keep them safe, to make them disappear in the face of this future.
My head hurts. The Nativity of Christ has already started. This is the beginning of a long way which will end in the beautiful time of Pascha.
Some of us are at the beginning, others on the way, the last ones are already climbing on the hill of Golgota. Like the last image of my dear Mioara.

De ziua lor
I love them!!
Am plutit toata ziua, m-am bucurat foarte tare si am fost recunoscatoare ca am putut sa imi aniversez inca odata iubitii mei. Ca Nicusor e sanatos si ne iubim si Olguta noastra creste.

Brainstorming at the church
Who knows..

Anatomy class - Olga
In fiecare saptamana, copiii prezinta prin rotatie cate o parte a corpului uman. Olga a prezentat saptamana asta Rinichii.
Kidneys
by Olga Baciu
The kidneys are important because they keep the
composition, or makeup, of the blood stable, which lets the body function. They
prevent the buildup of wastes and extra fluid in the body
keep levels of electrolytes stable, such as
sodium, potassium, and phosphate
make hormones that help
regulate blood pressure
make red blood cells
bones stay strong
Every day, the two kidneys filter about 120 to 150
quarts of blood to produce about 1 to 2 quarts of urine, composed of wastes and
extra fluid.
Each kidney is made up of about a million
filtering units called nephrons. The nephron includes a filter, called the
glomerulus, and a tubule.
Most people are born with two kidneys, but many
people can live on just one. Kidney transplant surgeries with live donors are
common medical procedures today.
Drugs and toxins can also cause kidney problems.
Using large numbers of over-the-counter pain relievers for a long time may be
harmful to the kidneys. Certain other medications, toxins, pesticides and
"street" drugs such as heroin and crack can also cause kidney damage
Kidney disease usually affects both kidneys. If
the kidneys' ability to filter the blood is seriously damaged by disease,
wastes and excess fluid may build up in the body. Although many forms of kidney
disease do not produce symptoms until late in the course of the disease, there
are six warning signs of kidney disease:
High blood pressure.
Blood and/or protein in the urine.
A creatinine and Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN) blood
test, outside the normal range. BUN and creatinine are waste that build up in
your blood when your kidney function is reduced.
A glomerular filtration rate (GFR) less than 60.
GFR is a measure of kidney function.
More frequent urination, particularly at night;
difficult or painful urination.
Puffiness around eyes, swelling of hands and feet.
Treatment for acute kidney failure typically
requires a hospital stay. Most people with acute kidney failure are already
hospitalized. How long you'll stay in the hospital depends on the reason for
your acute kidney failure and how quickly your kidneys recover.
In some cases, you may be able to recover at home.
Corn-silk and cherry-stem tea are very good.
"Dear Class,
I have really been enjoying all of the excellent Oral Reports that you have been preparing, and have been quite impressed with both your research and your delivery of your presentations.
This Week
1. Finish reading Chapter 5 on ‘Health and Nutrition”.
2. Continue with your nutrition log daily.
ü Bring it to class for me to look over on Thursday, and for discussion together about everyone’s eating habits.
3. Write 1-2 paragraphs about what you are discovering regarding your own eating habits. For example:
ü Do you tend to eat mostly carbohydrates?
ü Do you eat natural foods (like apples or oatmeal), or maybe more processed foods (i.e., Cheerios or energy bars)?
ü Do you eat mostly in the am, or pm, or eve, or are your meals balanced throughout the day.
ü Any thoughts about why you are eating?? Maybe you are truly hungry, but what about when you are just bored, or perhaps anxious.
ü Try to include as many of these angles in your paragraphs as possible, plus any other thoughts that you might have.
Oral Reports.
This week:
· 11/12: Joel - Teeth
· 11/12: Andrew – Vitamins
· 11/12: Andrea – Minerals
Upcoming:
· 11/19: Elisa – The Lungs
· 12/3: Justin – Cigarette Smoking’s Effect on the Lungs
Homework:
o Finish reading Chapter 5
o Daily Nutrition Log – due Thursday
o 1-2 paragraphs about your eating habits – due Thursday

Sa radem over and over la aceleasi glume pe care le-am auzit si saptamana trecuta, luna trecuta, poate chiar anul trecut.
